Pharmanager Ingredients achieves FSSC 22000 certification

On July 12, 2026, we obtained FSSC 22000 certification, confirming that our food safety management system complies with international standards.

This certification marks a new milestone in our commitment to continuous improvement. Initiated by management and led by the quality team, this initiative has brought all teams together around a common goal: to strengthen our food safety management system in a sustainable way.

What is FSSC 22000?

FSSC 22000 is a rigorous, globally recognized food safety certification standard based on:

  • ISO 22000: a certification we have held since 2021 that provides a framework for identifying hazards, assessing risks, and continuously managing food safety.
  • Prerequisite Programs (PRP): the fundamental requirements and practices necessary to maintain a safe and hygienic production environment, including cleaning and disinfection, personnel hygiene, pest control, equipment, storage, and the prevention of cross-contamination.
  • Additional FSSC Requirements: Requirements that align the certification with the standards of the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), a global initiative aimed at improving and harmonizing food safety systems on an international scale. These requirements cover topics such as food fraud prevention, “food defense,” allergen management, environmental monitoring, and a culture of food safety and quality.

Our History

Under the supervision of Annabelle Caillet, this project was led by Nanilethu Ngcukaythobi, who coordinated every step of the process. She supported and trained our teams throughout their journey toward certification. Several internal initiatives were organized to raise awareness among the teams and strengthen the food safety culture at Pharmanager Ingredients.

One of the highlights was World Food Safety Day 2025, during which the Quality and Marketing teams organized an interactive awareness session for employees focused on key topics: best practices at the storage facility, food risks, food fraud, and food defense. These workshops allowed the teams to test and deepen their knowledge through practical scenarios and quizzes.

We have also developed a quality and food safety plan, approved by our management, to help teams understand the new requirements, adapt to changes, and strengthen their knowledge and practices regarding food safety. This plan is structured around the four main pillars highlighted by the FSSC 22000 standard:

  • Employee Training
  • Communication
  • Employee Engagement and Feedback
  • Performance measurement.

Looking to the Future

Formulating a dietary supplement involves navigating regulatory constraints, safety requirements, and market expectations.

Thanks to our FSSC 22000 certification, we have the means to rigorously meet these requirements while fostering a culture of sustainable food safety that every one of our employees embraces. This certification is not an end in itself, but a solid foundation upon which we will continue to build, day after day, to ensure the satisfaction of our customers and partners.
