Detailed description
Iceland Moss Cetraria islandica, a member of the Parmeliaceae family, grows mainly in the colder regions of the northern hemisphere. It is traditionally used to soothe the respiratory tract and improve digestion thanks to its soothing properties.
Iceland Moss thallus extracts are rich in polysaccharides (lichenin and isolichenin) and lichenic acids such as fumarprotoketaric acid and usnic acid. These compounds are known for their antioxidant, soothing and immunomodulating activities, as well as for their potential role in supporting the digestive and respiratory systems.
