Detailed description

Rosa canina L, known as rosehip fruit, and more commonly as rosehip, is a small orange-red berry that grows on a shrub with thorn-covered stems, compound leaves and white or pink flowers. It belongs to the Rosa genus of the Rosaceae family and grows wild throughout the world.

This berry has long been used for its nutritional and health benefits. Consumed in the form of herbal teas, jams, syrups and powders for dilution, rosehip is particularly popular in infusions for its invigorating properties. Rich in vitamin C, flavonoids and carotenoids, rosehip has strong antioxidant powers to combat free radicals. It is considered one of nature’s greatest sources of vitamin C. This gives it anti-aging properties by promoting collagen production. As a dietary supplement, rosehip is also used in formulas to help the joints, thanks in part to its vitamin C content, but also in vitality and immune system formulas.
