Detailed description

Native to Europe and Asia, meadowsweet, Filipendula ulmaria, is a herbaceous perennial characterized by large clusters of fragrant white flowers. The plant is distinguished by its pinnate, toothed leaves and stems that can reach 1.5 meters in height.

It has been used for thousands of years by various cultures, notably the Greeks and ancient Egyptians. Indeed, it was considered sacred thanks to its numerous health benefits.

Meadowsweet flower is traditionally used as an infusion, decoction or dietary supplement for its soothing properties on joint discomfort and digestive disorders. Its renal elimination properties promote renal and urinary tract health. Its health benefits are attributed to the many active compounds it contains, such as flavonoids, phenolic acids (gallic, caffeic, salicylic and others) and tannins.
