GRAPE SEEDS
Vitis vinifera L.Grape seeds are the fruit of the Vitis vinifera L. vine, a member of the Vitaceae family. Originally from Southwest Asia, grapes are now widely cultivated in temperate and hot climates. The oligo proanthocyanidins present in grape seeds have strong antioxidant activity and are used in particular for their effects on the cardiovascular system.

Detailed description
Grapes are the fruit of the Vitis vinifera L. vine, a member of the Vitaceae family. It is thought to have originated in a region near the Caspian Sea in Southwest Asia. Today, it is widely cultivated in temperate and warm areas of Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas.
Grapes are one of the most widely consumed fruits in the world. In Europe, grapes, grape leaves and sap have been traditionally used for centuries for their health benefits.
As well as being a source of vitamins and fiber, grape seeds are very rich in flavonoids and polyphenols, particularly proanthocyanidins (PACs), which comprise oligomers or polyhydroxyflavan polymers. These biologically active components help neutralize the damaging effects of free radicals thanks to their strong antioxidant activity. Grape seed extract has potential health benefits, particularly for the cardiovascular system.
