Lemon verbena is native to South America and was introduced to Europe in the 18th century. Today, it is cultivated worldwide. It is used in cooking, either as a herbal tea or a seasoning, and is highly valued for its fresh lemony aroma. The aerial parts of this plant are traditionally used in various herbal practices, particularly to support digestion, intestinal comfort, sleep and relaxation. As such, this species holds strong potential as a bioactive ingredient.
