About our organic extracts
With a turnover of 53 million euros, there is a boom in the sale of certified organic food supplements. This is particularly true of herbal food supplements (75.5%) [Actif’s magazine no. 66].
Organic plant extracts have become a must, in response to consumer demand for naturalness. We are supporting this growth momentum! How? By proposing organic products of irreproachable quality in line with a sustainable approach that is respectful of humans and the environment.
Through its Esfri® supply chain, Pharmanager Ingredients developed an organic plant extract range that meets current requirements in terms of traceability, quality and securing of supplies. The Biotiful® range of high quality organic ingredients was thus born!
Our extracts come from carefully selected and controlled organic raw materials. Accordingly, we use diluted hydroethanolic solvents or water to extract the raw materials. Next, the heterogeneous mixture obtained is filtered to only retain a concentrated liquid with high levels of the plant’s active ingredients. The fluid extract is then concentrated and dried on a carrier (maltodextrin). We thus obtain a stable product – a dry extract – that can be used for many galenic forms. It contains no additives, and particularly no nanoparticles (e.g. colloidal anhydrous silica).
Lastly, the extracts are stored at our Beaucouzé site where they are quarantined before being analysed. Systematic analyses are conducted on each batch of materials: PAHs, plant identification, analyses for over 450 pesticides, etc. If the results comply with European Regulation no. 834/2007 on Organic Production, the batches are then released and ready for sale.

The Biotiful® range fosters a perfect harmony between nature and agriculture by using respectful cultivation methods.
We merged two words to define our range: bio (the French term for ‘organic’) and beautiful. ‘Bio’ (organic) because we are Ecocert certified. Accordingly, we communicate transparently on our commitments with regard to organic production and on traceability in our supply chain. ‘Beautiful’ because the range is more sublime year after year, as it gets enriched with new extracts developed by our Research & Development team.
About ethics
We have set up partnerships with our plant producers. For several years now, these trust based long-term relationships have united us in a common goal: To preserve and master sustainable crops to provide the best active ingredients from our plants.
We regularly visit our partner producers to directly discuss the challenges of sustainable development. Drawing on each other’s areas of expertise, we support them in this process. Lastly, we identify actions to be implemented, particularly in relation to good practices in organic production.
These discussions are particularly fruitful in terms of prospects for the future, as we share the same concern about preserving what nature offers us.
Continuous improvement has always been a key priority for Pharmanager Ingredients. Indeed, we worked hard to obtain dual ISO 22000 and ISO 9001 certification to guarantee the high quality of our products and a customised service for each of our customers.
